Rodrigo y Gabriella

Irish based production equipment rental company Ard Soilse productions was supplier of choice for promoters 8 ball promotions, and tour manager Sean Richards when Rodrigo y Gabriella were booked to play the opening show for “Live at the Dome” a series of concerts run in the new indoor venue at Thurles’ Semple Stadium.

Ard Soilse project manager Joe Betts worked closely with 8 ball and Sean Richards to ensure both venue and artists needs were met, and that the production was pulled together seamlessly.

The Stage was 7M x 4M and featured a 9M wide and 7M high ground supported grid, made from Milos M390L and Milos MT1 towers, which was used to support both lighting equipment and line array.

The lighting package consisted of 22 Elation Design 300E’s 12 spots and 10 washes, with six spots across the back truss, and six washes across the front truss, having 2 lite blinders placed between each lamp, then another 6 spots on flight cases across the up stage edge, and 2 washes per side at the down stage edge for shin busters.

There were also 4 6 way bars of Par 64 with CP60 bulbs for narrow beam effects, and 4 Martin Atomic 3000 Strobes at floor level.

The rig was controlled from an Avolites Pearl 2008, with Avolites dimming.

Lighting designer Stevie Marr got stuck into the rig around lunch time, and enjoyed a relaxed afternoon of programming, with all his needs met.

“The full production was pre rigged at our warehouse, and truss was all pre loomed and labelled, making on the day delivery extremely fast and efficient” said Joe Betts “ the full production Staging, rigging, sound and lighting was in by 12:00 noon, including the ground support build, so when the touring engineers arrived at around 1:00pm, everything was ready and waiting for them”
