Irish rental
company Ard Soilse Productions Ltd were commissioned by
Studio Solas and Lighting designer Paul Nobel to supply
lighting equipment for the BBC production “Zoo Factor” ,
the new spoof puppet show, designed as a take off of the
popular tv show X Factor.
“The set, and
puppets were scaled down to half size, making lighting
equipment specification very difficult” said Ard Soilse
director Joe Betts, who project managed the hire “if lamps
were caught in shot, they would look huge, so keeping the
size down, while still providing enough light to achieve the
right looks on camera was imperative”
Joe specified
a rig consisting mainly of elation fixtures, including 12
Elation Design Spot 300E, 6 Elation Design Wash 300E, 8
Elation Design Wash LED PRO and 16 Elation Design Brick 36
RGB, along with various generic fixtures.
The rig was
controlled with a Jands Vista T2.
Joe Betts of
Ard Soilse Said “ we were really impressed with Paul’s
design, it brought the set to life, and we were delighted
that we could supply the 300 series for the event, as its
compact size and high output made it the perfect choice”
